Quotes of the day

TNT Tropang Giga Assistant Coach Josh Reyes

On the altercation with Jung Kwan Jang:

“Both teams were competing hard, both players and everybody in our delegation. It was just a situation where we wanted to show everybody that we’re here for business. If we feel there’s some disrespect happening then we want to stand up against that. It’s not a diss to Monroe. He was just out there trying to do what’s within the rules. It’s just two teams and two individuals competing at the highest level.”

Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters forward Darryl Monroe

On the altercation with TNT:

“First of all, I wanted to apologize for the small incident during the game. To coach, to the team, to any fans … if I disrespected you guys, I just want to apologize and say I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do anything malicious or anything like that. But, you know, they fought hard as a team …

“The coach was drawing up a play right on the court, so I tried to see the play. I didn’t touch anybody, I didn’t do anything, I had my hands up … It’s a learning experience. Maybe I won’t do it next time, maybe I will. I need every advantage I can [get] because I’m old!”
