THE RUNDOWN

The Xac Broncos host their second straight EASL game in five days, welcoming the KBL’s Changwon LG Sakers on Wednesday. The Broncos improved to 2-0 in Group C with a Nov. 1 win over the New Taipei Kings, while LG enters M Bank Area at 0-1 after losing to New Taipei on Oct. 30.

Largely unknown entering 2025-26, the Broncos have proved they belong among Asia’s elite, with convincing wins over Alvark Tokyo and New Taipei.

LG, the 2024-25 KBL champion and currently 8-3 in the KBL, fell decisively to the Kings but should not be counted out. Guard Yang Jun Seok posted 16 points and 10 rebounds in LG’s opener, and Asian import forward Carl Tamayo remains a key threat despite a quiet debut as a current top-10 scorer in the KBL.

THE BRONCOS

The Broncos are riding the form of arguably the best scorer in EASL right now. Import guard Ian Miller poured in 40 points against the New Taipei Kings on Nov. 1, the league’s second 40-point outing this season and the second-highest single-game total.

Beyond Miller, the rotation has settled. Point guard Barsbold Baatar-Erdene is elusive yet decisive, pairing with Miller in the backcourt, while big man Efe Odigie set this season’s single-game rebounding mark with 21. Add in young local standout Azbayar Altangerel, the league leader in blocks at 3.0 per game, and the starting five looks dangerous on either end.

With this matchup, the Broncos reach the midpoint of their campaign. A win to move to 3-0 would put them in a strong position to be among the first clubs to clinch a postseason berth.

THE LG SAKERS

A tough task awaits the LG Sakers on the road at M Bank Arena. They enter at 0–1 and last in Group C, but have a chance to make a statement.

Yang Jun Seok was a clear standout in the loss to New Taipei, helping LG stay close until late in the fourth quarter. Two players who couldn’t find rhythm were Carl Tamayo and national team guard Yu Ki Sang. Yu finished with 13 points on nine shots at 44.4 percent.

An X-factor could be import center Michael Eric, who controlled the paint for long stretches, challenged shots, and posted a game-week high of three blocks.

A win in Ulaanbaatar would be significant. But dropping to 0–2 would be costly.

SPOTLIGHT STORYLINE

WINNING BIG

There’s plenty to like about the Broncos’ 2–0 start. Ian Miller’s scoring pops, and the fact an expansion team is still perfect, is a surprise. What’s slipped under the radar is how convincingly they’re winning. After beating Alvark Tokyo 84–69 and New Taipei 90–76, the Broncos own an average margin of victory of 14.5 points, the best mark of any team so far in 2025–26.
