EASL OCTOBER AWARDS | Archie Goodwin wins POTM, 5 Different Teams Feature In TOTM

Here is October's POTM, TOTM and the league's latest power rankings

EASL tipped off the 2025–26 season on October 8 with a three-game slate across two major Asian basketball capitals. Over the rest of the month, four more games pushed the total to seven, where nine of the league’s 12 teams were showcased.

Here are the awards for those who showed out in October:

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Archie Goodwin

Archie Goodwin’s 43 points on opening night might just hold a single-game season-high for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign. In his EASL debut with the P. LEAGUE+’s Taipei Fubon Braves, Goodwin went ballistic, shooting 68.2% from the floor and knocking down five 3-pointers. He got to the basket, made catch-and-shoot jumpers from the outside and scored on extremely tough isolation chances around the perimeter.

To make it even tougher, the team that he and Taipei knocked off at home was the reigning B.LEAGUE champions — Utsunomiya Brex, which had 2-time reigning league MVP D.J. Newbill. For that, Goodwin deserves Player of the Month honors.

TEAM OF THE MONTH

G: Archie Goodwin — Taipei Fubon Braves (P. LEAGUE+)

G: Lu Chun Hsiang — Taoyuan Pauian Pilots (P. LEAGUE+)

F: Azbayar Altangerel — Xac Broncos (“The League”)

F: Sani Sakakini — New Taipei Kings

C: Isaac Fotu — Utsunomiya Brex (B.LEAGUE)

The first Team of the Month to start the season features five players from five different teams. Goodwin headlines the lineup after his 43-point outburst. Joining him in the backcourt is Lu Chun Hsiang, who earned All-EASL Team honors last season and led the league in total scoring in 2024-25 with 158 points.

Moving into the frontcourt, Mongolian champions Xac Broncos forward Azbayar Altangerel earns a spot after totaling 16 points and an October-high of four blocks while helping the Broncos win on the road in their EASL debut. New Taipei’s Sani Sakakini joins him, a regular after appearing on last season’s All-EASL Team. Utsunomiya Brex’s Isaac Fotu finishes the lineup with two big games for the reigning B.LEAGUE champions, putting up 57 points and 20 rebounds in just two outings.
