East Asia Super League (EASL) Partners with Samahang Basketbol Ng Pilipinas to Launch EASL Future Champions Philippines

EASL teams up with SBP to launch Future Champions Philippines, kicking off a new era of youth basketball development across Asia.

East Asia Super League (EASL) has officially launched EASL Future Champions, a new initiative designed to transform youth basketball across Asia through world-class training, elite competition, and deep community engagement.

The first official partnership of the program is with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) — the national governing body for basketball in the Philippines — to launch EASL Future Champions Philippines, marking a major step in EASL’s mission to elevate the game at the grassroots level.

What is EASL Future Champions?

EASL Future Champions is built on two core pillars:

Grassroots Program – Launching in September 2025, this initiative focuses on talent development camps and meaningful community outreach to nurture basketball from the ground up.

Elite Program – Set to begin in March 2026, this will be Asia’s highest-level youth performance program, offering top players world-class coaching, international exposure, and long-term career development. Details will be announced soon.

Together, these programs will establish a structured pathway for Asian youth to grow as players and pursue opportunities in the sport—both regionally and globally.

What Is The SBP?

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) is the national governing body for basketball in the Philippines, recognized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Established to unify and lead Philippine basketball, SBP is committed to developing the sport at every level, from grassroots to the national team. It works closely with schools, local leagues, and international partners to enhance the growth, integrity, and global competitiveness of basketball in the country.

“SBP brings the leadership, experience, and infrastructure to make EASL Future Champions the premium youth development program in the Philippines,” said EASL CEO Henry Kerins. “We’re proud to be working alongside them to build something that can create real impact.”

“EASL’s vision matches our commitment to the next generation,” said SBP President Al Panlilio. “We’re excited to help shape the future of grassroots basketball together.”

What's Next?

The launch of EASL Future Champions Philippines is just the beginning. Programs in Macau and Hong Kong are already in development, as EASL expands its efforts to build a pan-Asian platform that nurtures the next generation of basketball stars.
