GAME RECAP | Alvark Roll Past Changwon LG, Move Into 1st in Group C

Saiz’s 30 Points, Rossiter’s 18-Point, 18-Rebound Double-Double Eliminate LG From EASL Postseason Contention

What Happened

Alvark Tokyo took control after halftime and rolled past the Changwon LG Sakers 92–73 at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi on Wednesday night. The game was tight early with the teams level 17–17 after the first quarter, but Alvark started to separate in the second and never looked back.

Tokyo led 39–35 at the half, then won the third quarter 23–17 to stretch the margin to 62–52. From there, Alvark slammed the door with a 30–21 fourth, building the lead as high as 19 and finishing the night with over 32 minutes spent in front.

Sebastian Saiz powered the home side with a monster scoring night, going for 30 points on 12-for-18 shooting and 6-for-7 at the line. LG got 24 points from Carl Tamayo and 12 points, 10 rebounds from Michael Eric, but the Sakers could not keep pace once Alvark’s frontcourt started owning the paint.

What It Means

In Group C, Changwon LG is now mathematically eliminated from postseason contention. The Sakers fall to 1-4, and with one regular-season game remaining, they can no longer finish in the group’s top two.

At the top, Alvark Tokyo moves into first place at 2-1, holding the best winning percentage in the group. Despite Xac Broncos (3-2) and New Taipei Kings (3-2) both having more victories, Alvark sits above them in the standings due to their higher win percentage, giving Tokyo control of the group heading into the next round of games.

Player of The Game: Ryan Rossiter

Ryan Rossiter was everywhere in his second-ever EASL contest. He finished with 18 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 assists in 31 minutes against the LG Sakers.

Rossiter’s work on the glass set the foundation. He consistently finished defensive possessions while creating second chances on the offensive end, allowing Alvark to control tempo and wear LG down as the game progressed. His rebounding presence limited LG to one-and-done trips and helped Tokyo steadily build separation in the second half.

And the impact wasn’t subtle in the on-court results either. Rossiter finished at +26, the best mark among Alvark’s key rotation, reflecting how much Tokyo’s execution and control improved with him on the floor.

Super Statistic: Alvark: 48, LG: 24

Paint scoring was the difference between Alvark and LG. Alvark dominated the interior, doubling LG up in paint scoring and consistently getting high-percentage looks at the rim. Tokyo’s bigs — Sebastian Saiz and Ryan Rosster — repeatedly collapsed the defense, forcing rotations and opening up second-chance opportunities.

That interior control translated into efficiency across the lineup, as Alvark converted at a higher rate on two-point attempts and dictated the physicality of the game. Once the lead started to grow, LG was forced further away from its strengths, while Tokyo continued to punish mismatches inside.

Next Up

Next up, Alvark Tokyo and Changwon LG meet again, this time at Changwon Gymnasium on January 21, in a rematch that will close LG’s regular season.

While it is the finale for the Sakers, Alvark will still have two regular-season games remaining after that as they continue their push for postseason positioning.
