EASL 2025-26 ROSTER RELEASE: MEET GROUP C

The 2025–26 EASL season is almost here. Our editorial team has prepared a roster release guide to help you get familiar with every team in Group C.

Group C brings together one established contender and three newcomers in what promises to be one of the most intriguing mixes of the season.

The New Taipei Kings — last year’s EASL third-place finishers — return for their third consecutive campaign. They remain the only team to have reached back-to-back EASL postseasons, but this year they face a new challenge without Jeremy Lin, whose absence will be a major storyline to watch.

Joining them are three debutants. Alvark Tokyo enters as one of Japan’s B.LEAGUE’s most recognizable basketball brands. Fresh off a championship run in Korea, the Changwon LG Sakers are led by an exciting local backcourt duo. And rounding out the group are the Xac Broncos, Mongolia’s reigning champions and the nation’s first-ever EASL representatives.

Here’s your first look at Group C:

Alvark Tokyo

Alvark Tokyo joins EASL as part of the league’s expansion, becoming the third B.LEAGUE club in the competition. A perennial title contender in Japan, Alvark enters the season bolstered by two high-profile additions in former EuroLeague standouts Brandon Davies and Marcus Foster.

They will be complemented by point guard Kai Toews, who looks poised for a breakout year after an offseason with Team Japan at the FIBA Asia Cup. Veteran forward Ryan Rossiter, fresh off an All-B.LEAGUE Second Team selection, returns to provide steady production.

Alvark opens the 2025-26 season at home against the Xac Broncos on Oct. 8.

Alvark Tokyo’s Projected Depth Chart:

HC: Dainius Adomaitis

PG: Kai Toews / Sota Okura / Kohei Fukuzawa

SG: Shuto Ando / Taiki Osakabe / Hiromu Nakamura

SF: Zack Baranski / Marcus Foster / Ira Brown

PF: Ryan Rossiter / Sebastian Saiz /

C: Brandon Davies / Stephen Zack / Gen Hiraiwa / Shohei Kikuchi

New Taipei Kings

Arguably the most intriguing storyline of the 2025–26 season: Can New Taipei continue to dominate without Jeremy Lin? The Kings bring back Joseph Lin, Final Four hero Su Shih-Hsuan and their import frontcourt trio of Sani Sakakini, Austin Daye, and reigning Chinese Taipei Import MVP Jason Washburn.

Adding to the intrigue is the arrival of new head coach John Patrick, who led Japan’s Chiba Jets to the EASL title in 2023–24. He now has the chance to become the first coach in league history to win multiple championships.

New Taipei opens the 2025-26 season at home against Alvark Tokyo on Oct. 22.

Changwon LG Sakers

LG stunned the Korean basketball scene by defeating domestic powerhouse — and fellow EASL 2025-26 side — Seoul SK Knights to capture the club’s first-ever KBL championship. Now, the Sakers are setting their sights on the rest of Asia.

Their backcourt features the exciting duo of Yang Jun-Seok and Yu Ki-Sang, with Yu coming off a strong summer for Team Korea at the FIBA Asia Cup, highlighted by a pair of 20-point performances. In the frontcourt, imports Assem Marei and Carl Tamayo return after playing pivotal roles in last season’s title run.

Changwon LG opens the 2025-26 season at home against New Taipei on Oct. 30.

Xac Broncos

The Xac Broncos may be new to much of Asia, but they made a statement over the summer by winning the BCL Asia East after securing their second straight and seventh overall Mongolian championship. Now, the Broncos have become the first Mongolian team to ever compete in EASL.

Leading the charge is Ian Miller, who re-signed after earning both BCL Asia All-Star 5 honors and Mongolia Basketball Association Finals MVP. He’s joined by versatile forward Azbayar Altangerel and rising point guard Barsbold Baatar Erdene.

The Broncos open the 2025-26 season on the road against Alvark Tokyo on Oct. 8.
