Macau SAR champions Hou Chon Basketball Club earns its first-ever EASL berth and will represent the city in the 2026-27 season
Hou Chon Basketball Club has qualified for the 2026-27 EASL season as Macau SAR’s reigning champion. The club will compete in EASL for the first time.
The qualification continues Macau SAR's growing involvement in EASL. The territory was first represented in the league by the Macau Black Bears in the 2024-25 season, with the club returning in 2025-26. Macau SAR has also served as the host of the EASL postseason in each of the past two seasons.

"Qualifying for EASL is an important opportunity for our club and our players. It means that we will truly represent Macau SAR in Asia’s premier basketball league, bringing our local players onto the international stage to compete and learn alongside world-class powerhouses. This is not only an honor for Hou Chon, but also a crucial step forward in the internationalization of Macau SAR basketball.”

Hou Chon Basketball Club is one of Macau SAR’s basketball clubs. Founded in 2012 by Chan Chi Cheong, Jeff, the club competes in the All-Macau Basketball Silver Medal League, where it most recently won the 2026 Senior Division championship.
Hou Chon's qualification brings the number of confirmed teams for the 2026-27 EASL season to 11 across six territories. Clubs from Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR have secured their places, with additional teams to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
