Torren Jones joins the San Miguel Beermen

Jones will likely make his EASL debut against the 0-2 Hong Kong Eastern

Torren Jones has joined the San Miguel Beermen as an import for the East Asia Super League (EASL) and PBA Commissioner's Cup. The 6-foot-9 forward, who featured in the Commissioner’s Cup earlier this month, has played professionally in Australia, Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, Libya, the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom.

Jones most recently played for Abejas de Leon in the Mexican LNBP, the top professional league in Mexico.

After victories over the PBA’s Terrafirma Dyip and Blackwater Bossing, Jones is set to make his EASL debut on Wednesday in an away contest against Hong Kong Eastern. He will team up with SMB’s other import, Quincy Miller, a former NBA player for the Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, and Detroit Pistons. Miller is averaging 20 points and 5.5 rebounds across two EASL games this season.

Before turning pro, Jones was a top-100 recruit at La Lumiere in Indiana, USA, and played collegiately at Missouri, Fresno State, and William Penn University.

San Miguel will aim for its first EASL win against Hong Kong Eastern. Currently 0-2 in Group A, the Beermen started the 2024-25 season with losses to Suwon KT Sonicboom (KBL) and Taoyuan Pauian Pilots (P. LEAGUE+). The game tips off at 8:10 p.m. CST at Southorn Stadium.
