Alvark Tokyo Qualify For 2025-26 EASL Season

Despite an early B.LEAGUE playoff exit, Alvark qualify for EASL as 2025 Emperor’s Cup runners-up.
Alvark Tokyo have officially qualified for the East Asia Super League for the first time in franchise history, earning their spot by finishing as runners-up in Japan’s 2025 Emperor’s Cup.
Their qualification comes under EASL’s updated format, which expands the league to 12 teams for the 2025–26 season. As part of the expansion, EASL introduced a new qualification route that includes the Emperor’s Cup winner. However, with the Ryukyu Golden Kings — the 2025 Emperor’s Cup champions — already qualifying through their B.LEAGUE Finals appearance, the additional EASL berth was passed to the runners-up, Alvark Tokyo, who fell to Ryukyu 60–49 in the Final held in mid-March.
Alvark Tokyo posted an impressive 44–16 record during the regular season but were swept in the opening round of the B.LEAGUE Playoffs by the Chiba Jets, who went on to reach the Finals. Despite the early exit, Alvark's strong overall campaign and deep Emperor’s Cup run have earned them a spot on the continental stage.
A storied franchise, Alvark Tokyo are tied with Utsunomiya Brex for the most B.LEAGUE titles (2) in league history. Though they’ll miss the domestic championship series this year, they’ll compete in EASL for the first time next season — joining Ryukyu and Utsunomiya as Japan’s three representatives for 2025–26.
