EASL November Awards | Ismael Romero Named POTM, Sakakini earns 2nd straight nod after hitting 200-point, 100-rebound mark

Read up on November’s POTM, TOTM and the league's latest power rankings

EASL wrapped up its second month of the 2025–26 season with seven games, all 12 participating teams finally taking the floor and only two unbeaten teams left standing.

Before we head into the final month of the year, let’s take a look at who made the most of November:

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Ismael Romero

Ismael Romero took November by storm, powering the Meralco Bolts to a 2–1 record and helping them climb back to 0.500 in Group B. The big man posted three straight double-doubles, finishing the month with absurd averages of 24.3 points and 19.7 rebounds.

His standout performance came on November 15 in the Philippines, when the Bolts faced the Macau Black Bears in EASL’s first-ever charity event, Basketball For Cebu. In a game where all ticket proceeds and revenue went toward supporting local disaster victims, Romero dominated, hauling in an EASL single-game record 28 rebounds in a 92–74 win.

A newly crowned and well-deserved Player of the Month.

TEAM OF THE MONTH:

G: Ian Miller — Xac Broncos (“The League”)

G: Barsbold Baatar-Erdene — Xac Broncos (“The League”)

F: Lee Minseo  — Seoul SK Knights (KBL)

F: Sani Sakakini — New Taipei Kings

C: Ismael Romero — Meralco Bolts (PBA)

November’s Team of the Month features two players from the same team for the first time this season and also marks a second straight appearance for New Taipei Kings forward Sani Sakakini.

Xac Broncos backcourt duo Ian Miller and Barsbold Baatar-Erdene headline this month’s lineup after leading the Mongolian side to a 3–0 record, with wins over New Taipei and the Changwon LG Sakers. On November 5 against the Kings, Miller exploded for 40 points in a 105–77 victory, while Baatar-Erdene was steady all month, averaging 11 points and five assists.

Seoul SK Knights forward Lee Minseo earns his first Team of the Month nod after scoring 22 points in a 94–87 win over Hong Kong Eastern to get his team into the win column. Sakakini, meanwhile, returns for a second straight month after hitting major milestones in November, surpassing 200 career EASL points on November 1 in New Taipei and reaching 100 rebounds on November 19. He is now one of just two players in EASL history to reach both 200 points and 100 rebounds, joining former teammate Kenny Manigault.

Quick Breakdown

The Xac Broncos rise to No. 1 in the rankings after staying unbeaten at 3–0, with the Taipei Fubon Braves right behind them at a perfect 1–0.

Taoyuan comes in at No. 3 despite suffering its first loss of the season to Meralco on November 8, while the Bolts are the biggest climbers from October, jumping from No. 8 to No. 5.

Japan’s B.LEAGUE teams are unchanged, as none of them played in November and all remain 1–1, with Ryukyu at No. 4, Utsunomiya at No. 6, and Alvark at No. 7.

SK moves from No. 10 to No. 8 after earning its first win of the season against Hong Kong Eastern, while New Taipei sits at No. 9 at 2–2 after a 14-point loss to the Broncos to start the month, even with a later bounce-back win.

Eastern and the Macau Black Bears remain unmoved from October after both starting 0–1 in EASL play. LG sits at the bottom of the list after finishing November 0–3, the most losses in the league so far.
