Xac Broncos Qualify For 2026-27 Season

Broncos claim a 10th domestic title, 2nd straight trip to EASL

The Xac Broncos have qualified for the 2026-27 EASL season after claiming a third consecutive and tenth overall The League title on Thursday, confirming their status as Mongolia's champions for another year. It marks the second straight EASL campaign for the Broncos, who made history in 2025-26 as the first Mongolian team to compete in the league.

Their run through the domestic playoffs was commanding. Seeded second heading into the postseason, the Broncos swept Darkham United in the first round, defeated the Khan Falcons in five games, then took down Selenge Bodons in five games in the championship series. TK was named Finals MVP.

The Broncos' 2025-26 EASL campaign was a strong debut despite falling just short of the postseason. They opened with three consecutive wins to lead Group C before back-to-back losses set up a must-win clash with Alvark Tokyo on February 11, 2026. A 97-93 defeat in Ulaanbaatar ended their run, with the Broncos ultimately eliminated on point difference behind New Taipei for the second seed.

Still, they made their mark. Star import guard Ian Miller averaged 24.2 points to finish sixth in scoring league-wide, highlighted by a 40-point performance against New Taipei on November 1, the second-highest single-game total of the season. Point guard Baatar Barsbold-Erdene finished top-10 in assists per game (5.3) and led all guards in rebounding at 5.8 per game, while forward Azbayar Altangerel ranked sixth in blocks per game at 1.2.

Beyond EASL, it has been a remarkable 12 months for the franchise. After winning the 2024-25 The League title, the Broncos went on to win BCL Asia East and competed at the BCL Asia tournament, finishing third as fellow EASL side Utsunomiya Brex claimed the championship. Domestically, the Broncos finished second in the inaugural MBA MIAT Cup, while Barsbold-Erdene took home the league's Most Improved Player award.

The Broncos are the second team confirmed for the 2026-27 EASL season, following the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, who qualified on April 5, 2026.

More qualifier announcements will follow in the coming weeks.
