Meet Our GM: Adam Zecha’s Vision for EASL and the Future of Asian Basketball

Adam Zecha Takes Over as EASL General Manager, Looks Ahead to League’s Next Chapter

The East Asia Super League (EASL) has officially named Adam Zecha as its new General Manager, effective June 1, 2025. With over 23 years of experience in sports media & marketing across Asia along with over 3 years of work on the telco platform side plus over 5 years of experience in the advertising & marketing agency industry, Adam steps into the role ready to help shape the future of EASL—and continue its rise as the premier basketball league in the region.

“Adam has been one of the key leaders driving EASL’s growth, and his appointment as General Manager is a natural next step,” said Henry Kerins, Chief Executive Officer of East Asia Super League. “His vision and experience will help take the league to new heights across the region.”

As GM, Adam now leads a fast-growing league made up of the best teams from Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Mongolia. With Season 3 right around the corner, EASL is focused on raising the level of competition, building a stronger connection with fans, and delivering top-tier professional basketball across Asia.

One of Adam’s first big focuses is Future Champions, EASL’s upcoming youth development platform. Designed to spotlight elite grassroots talent from across the region, the initiative is set to launch soon, with more details on the way. On top of that, EASL recently secured a partnership with the BIG3, the U.S.-based 3-on-3 league founded by Ice Cube. That collaboration will bring BIG3’s action-packed style of play to Asia in 2026.

Adam originally joined EASL in February 2024, just before the league wrapped up its inaugural season. He served as VP, Head of Commercial & Broadcast Production & Operations, playing a major role in EASL’s early momentum. Between Season 1 and Season 2, league revenue increased significantly, and broadcast and streaming deals helped push EASL coverage to 190 territories worldwide, with a potential audience of 1.2 billion viewers.

Before joining EASL, Adam held senior roles at Singtel, CSI Sports, ESPN STAR Sports / FOX International, ISC S/B, and Asia Business News (now CNBC Asia). Throughout his career, he’s led regional teams, secured more than 100 major partnerships, launched digital-first platforms, and helped monetize global sports rights from leagues like the NBA, FIFA, UEFA, EPL, AFC, and more. He’s also played a key role in launching iconic events and products, from ESPN X Games and Mobile ESPN to One Championship.

“We’re not just growing a league—we’re growing the basketball culture of Asia,” Adam said. “That means creating a league that reflects the region’s energy, diversity, and ambition. From elite teams to future stars, we’re building something lasting for players, fans, and partners.”
