3 P. LEAGUE+ Teams Set For 2026-27 EASL Season

Taipei Fubon Braves, TSG Ghosthawks join Taoyuan Pauian Pilots to form 1st 3-team P. LEAGUE+ group in EASL history

EASL has confirmed three P. LEAGUE+ teams for the 2026-27 season, the first time three clubs from the league will compete in EASL in a single season. The Taipei Fubon Braves and TSG Ghosthawks join the already-qualified Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, growing P. LEAGUE+'s EASL presence from two teams in the previous three seasons to three.

As one of EASL's original partner leagues since the launch of the home-and-away format in 2023, the P. LEAGUE+ has been a major factor in the competition's high level of play, with at least one P. LEAGUE+ team reaching the EASL postseason in each of the first three seasons. The expansion from two teams to three is a natural step given that track record of on-court success, paired with the passionate fanbases that P. LEAGUE+ clubs consistently bring to the EASL stage.

"P. LEAGUE+ has been part of EASL since the very beginning, and its clubs have consistently shown they belong among the best in Asia,” said EASL CEO Henry Kerins. “Expanding to three P. LEAGUE+ teams was a natural decision, earned through years of strong competition and the passionate fanbases that follow these clubs. We're proud of how far this partnership has come, and we look forward to what three P. LEAGUE+ teams will bring to the 2026-27 season.”

"EASL has brought tremendous breakthroughs and innovation to Asian basketball, and its achievements are clear for everyone to see. It is truly an honor that both leagues have built such a strong partnership since 2020, when everything started from zero, and that three P. LEAGUE+ teams will compete in EASL this coming season," said P. LEAGUE+ CEO Charles "Blackie" Chen. "We will continue to reinforce this collaboration and work together with EASL to elevate the level of Asian basketball."

The three clubs representing P. LEAGUE+ in 2026-27 feature a mix of EASL experience and a first-time participant.

The most experienced of the three, the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots return for their third straight EASL season after finishing as runners-up in both 2024-25 and 2025-26, falling to the B.LEAGUE's Hiroshima Dragonflies and Utsunomiya Brex in those championship games. This past season, Taoyuan finished second in Group B at 4-2 before a strong run to the 2026 EASL Championship Game, winning by an average of 23 points along the way. Domestically, the Pilots are chasing a second straight P. LEAGUE+ title after winning the franchise's first championship in 2024-25. Taoyuan opened the 2025-26 P. LEAGUE+ campaign with an 11-0 run, the best start in league history, and finished with a league-record 21-3 mark and an all-time best 87.5% win percentage, including a perfect 12-0 home record. The Pilots clinched the regular season title on April 5, 2026 to earn an automatic spot in EASL 2026-27 and the P. LEAGUE+ championship series.

Joining them are the Taipei Fubon Braves, who return to EASL after previously competing in the 2023-24 and 2025-26 seasons. This past campaign, the Braves finished 2-4 in Group A and narrowly missed out on a postseason spot. Domestically, the Braves are the most decorated franchise in P. LEAGUE+ history, having won three championships, most recently in 2023. The Taipei Fubon Braves are the No. 2 seed in the upcoming P. LEAGUE+ playoffs.

Rounding out the trio are the TSG Ghosthawks, who will compete in their first EASL season in 2026-27. The Ghosthawks are part of the broader TSG organization, which also fields professional volleyball and baseball teams in Kaohsiung. The Tainan-based TSG Ghosthawks claimed the No. 3 seed in the P. LEAGUE+ playoffs and will host their EASL home games in Kaohsiung.

The P. LEAGUE+ Finals tip off on June 5, with the reigning champion Taoyuan Pauian Pilots awaiting the winner of the Taipei Fubon Braves and TSG Ghosthawks playoff matchup in a best-of-seven series.
